  Poor kids. They regurgitate Watchtower answers and have no training in how to have an actual debate or go deeper into a subject. I really feel for them. I remember what that felt like. My non-jw father is an ex police interrogator and used to question me just like this to the point that I too would run away, albeit not physically: I became adept at evading questions and changing the subject.

  data collected this summer by a european space agency (esa) satellite suggests the field is weakening 10 times faster than scientists originally thought.

  if the magnetic field weakens enough, then the earth could be hit with dangerous amounts of solar radiation and cosmic rays .....

  SO true. Been reading Pinktruth.com which is about the Mary Kay cult and it's soooooooooooo similar to JWs it's scary. Although it's a product-based pyramid scheme I find myself nodding in agreement at every article.

  What's with this "no windows in kingdom halls" thing?

  i hear many people on this forum say that kh's don't have windows.

  but i have never been to one that didn't have windows.

  is this only in a certain area or something?.

  How can I ever leave this cult?

  i've been out nearly two years but it's not out of me.

  i am on school holidays now til february so i thought without work to worry about i can come off my medication.

  i phased it slowly, starting in early november to avoid the physical side effects of coming down.

  The Borg from Star Trek: good analogy. I remember one borg was ripped away from her people and she couldn't get over the fact of life outside the borg and wanted to go back. Another borg started a resistance movement! I guess borgs all do something slightly different, but the majority of the Jaybots just can't get through the conditioning. It is very powerful. Took me years to get through it myself and I'm an educated, intelligent person.

  the desert areas of central australia, the so-called 'red heart' of the nation, still has a significant population of original australians.

  and many of them seem to have difficulty with the law.*.

  that's a very brief and simplistic introduction to this video of prison guards in the alice springs jail, manhandling a young boy.

  Thanks all :).

  I actually moved out lf my last congregation's territory and no jws know where we live now and my townhouse complex is a DNC apparently. I do live across the highway from my old territory from before the last congregation, which is where my parents live. I'm not going to move towns because there is not many other places to go, and we only just bought this place in March.

  I guess I was just feeling sorry for myself and I can be a bit obsessive by nature. I am on school holidays at the moment too so I have plenty of time to over think things. My art commissions have kept me a little busy but I wish I could just not give a damn if I see these people ever again. But, there were my life for years so it's not that easy.
